What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician II, QC/DC position at The Vitamin Shoppe?
Overview
The QC/DC Technician II is responsible for the inspection of all incoming finished goods to ensure that all Vitamin Shoppe products conform to established Quality Standards as well as the maintenance of Market Withdrawal/RTV/MRDD/Training.
Responsibilities
- Sample and inspect incoming finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform organoleptic testing and Certificate of Analysis reviews for incoming products against Vitamin Shoppe established GMP requirements.
- Assist in disposition reviews and MRDD to ensure release of quality materials.
- Work with Science and Regulatory Affairs as well as Product Development to release QC products.
- Maintain the storage and purging of retention samples.
- Execute RTV for Market Withdrawals and vendor return issues
- Maintain QC files, product release, holds, and rejections in Bamboo Rose; ensuring it is current and accurate.
- Assist Manager in QC training.
- Gather and forward designated products slated for contract lab analysis.
- Assist in conducting investigation of product and health complaints. Check the batch records, retain, and Certificate of Analysis on file for lot in question to be acceptable.
- Assist Manager in maintaining Warehouse GMPs, and logbook maintenance.
- Remain current on Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulation requirements after training, and company policies relative to personal hygiene, sanitation, wearing apparel, etc.
- Perform other duties as required
Leadership
- Assist Manager in the administration of Product Recalls and Market Withdrawals.
- Assist Manager with the maintenance of product recall and market withdrawal inventory, store responses, receipt of product, disposition of product, and count for affected product.
- Direct the performance of health enthusiasts to support the business needs.
- Connects with each health enthusiast every day; sustains a high level of visibility and approachability.

- Shares appropriate and timely information with associates, peers, and leaders
- Communicates and enforces safe work practices to prevent accidents and injury
- Maintains a clean and safe environment
- Represents and supports the Vitamin Shoppe brand in the DC environment
- Support teamwork at all levels within the Distribution Center environment
- Support DC goals and health enthusiast performance by communicating UPH, Quality, Safety, Attendance, and other performance results information to health enthusiasts
- Hold health enthusiasts accountable to achieving their individual goals and objectives
- Promotes open communication and a positive environment in the distribution center.
