Position Title: Janitor

Reporting into Title: Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

Position Purpose/Summary: The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the facility and monitoring building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to avoid potential hazards.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash.  
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Communication: Ability to listen to directions, work well with others, and communicate directions to others.

Physical Capabilities 

Strength:

• Standing and walking on the floor up to 90% of the time
• Lifting may include up to 20 to 30 pounds occasionally

Movement:

• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

Hearing:

Vision: Visual judgement so as to avoid injury near machinery or walking about production area.
