Responsibilities

The guidance counselor/transition coordinator leave replacement will be responsible to provide support and assistance to counsel students in resolving personal, educational, and career concerns. The guidance counselor/transition coordinator helps students learn behavior, subject matter, and/or skills that will contribute to their personal development. This includes the following:

• Assist in planning guidance programs and pupil personnel services.
• Provide individual and group counseling for personal, educational, and career guidance.
• Act as consultant to, confers, and communicates with parents and staff in reference to the student’s growth and development. Counselors also play a vital role in developing the school’s and individual schedules as well as documenting student progress towards graduation requirements.
  
  

Qualifications & Education NYS Guidance Counselor Certification required. Prior experience in school setting preferred.
