What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Business Partner position at The Virtual Bench?
Our client is located in Chesapeake, VA and looking to add an HRBP to their team on a direct hire basis. This HRBP will provide full-scope HR leadership in a past-faced, rapidly growing organization with a unique combination of both professionals and skilled trades at an office and manufacturing site and shipyards around the country. This role will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. This role has flexibility to WFH on Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a trusted business partner for the Vice President, senior leadership team, and leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees with regards to employee engagement, performance management, career development, talent assessment and retention.
- Serve as an employee advocate; proactively identify opportunities and develop solutions to improve the employee experience.
- Conduct investigations as required to address employee complaints, violations of policies, or concerns.
- Partner with leaders to develop and implement strategies to drive positive employee relations and effective, 2-way communication.
- Lead the annual succession planning, talent review, and compensation planning processes.
- Partner with department leadership to determine staffing requirements; partner with Talent Acquisition to manage the staffing process for both full-time and temporary resources.
- Travel to local shipyards regularly and sites around the country quarterly to meet with employees, read the pulse of the workforce, assess needs, and recommend/develop solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10 years’ experience in roles of increasing responsibility as an HR Business Partner / Generalist.
- 5 years’ experience providing HR business partner support in a production, manufacturing, and/or field environment.
- 10 years’ experience spanning across the roles within HR, administrator, generalist, partner
- Must have dealt with all challenges within HR specifically strong with employee relations
- Must include 5 years manufacturing industry experience
- Thorough understanding of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS :
- PHR/SPHR certification.
- Prefer minimum 10 years experience in HR Business Partner / Generalist roles in a company with more than 10,000 employees.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
