Part-Time Floral Designer

We are a long-standing, well-known flower shop and boutique that has been a fixture in the Alexandria community for over 60 years, and we are looking for a part-time floral designer to join our team.
Under new ownership as of 2025, we are in an exciting season of refreshing, growing, and bringing new energy and ideas into both our floral and retail spaces. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of that growth and help us continue to evolve while maintaining the reputation and quality our customers have loved for decades.
We are a full-service florist and boutique, creating everything from everyday arrangements and sympathy flowers to weddings, corporate events, dinner parties, and holiday florals. Our shop also includes a curated boutique with a mix of luxury, modern, and whimsical products, so this position offers exposure to both floral design and retail operations.
About the Position
This is a part-time position (15–25 hours per week) and Saturday availability is required. Additional hours will be available during busy times. Hours and schedule can be flexible for the right person.
Floral experience is preferred, but we are willing to train and develop the right person if they are a great fit for our team and shop environment. We care just as much about personality, work ethic, and attitude as we do about experience.
Responsibilities
· Designing daily floral arrangements
· Assisting with weddings, events, and holiday production
· Processing and caring for flowers
· Customer service and helping customers select flowers and gifts
· Merchandising and maintaining shop displays
· Occasionally assisting with deliveries
· Helping with general shop tasks and working as part of a team
· Assisting with boutique retail and learning behind-the-scenes small business operations
