In this role, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to deliver participant-centered care aimed at promoting independence, safety, and functional ability. Your responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), implementing therapeutic interventions, adapting techniques to individual needs, and ensuring safe mobility and transfers. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, caregivers, and families to provide holistic care, participate in meetings, and support activities that enhance physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Accurate documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards are essential.
Qualifications include an accredited Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance, passing the NBCOT exam, and obtaining state licensure if required. A minimum of one year of experience working with the elderly is preferred, with training provided if necessary. Candidates must have reliable transportation, be medically cleared, and pass background checks.
