The RN Charge Nurse oversees nursing services each shift, acting as a nursing supervisor responsible for staff supervision and clinical operations.
Key duties include improving patient outcomes by assisting with clinical processes, managing supplies and labor, documenting medication profiles, administering medications, and supporting physician rounds.
They assist with anemia management, adhere to legal and ethical standards, and may provide direct patient care, including safe dialysis when permitted.
Responding to emergencies, communicating patient assessments, and collaborating with medical staff are essential.
They participate in patient care planning, orient new staff, and ensure policies and procedures are current.
Additional responsibilities involve assisting with staff hiring, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum of 12 months nursing experience including 3 months in dialysis, CPR certification, and basic computer skills.
Must demonstrate leadership, good judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to perform in emergent situations.
