What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turfgrass (Golf Course Maintenance) position at THE VINTAGE CLUB?
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Under supervision, works on diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction, does semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work, and performs related tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Safely operates powered equipment in mowing golf course putting greens, aprons, and tees.
2. Waters and fertilizes putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs as instructed.
3. Grades and prepares a soil plant bed, lays sod, plants vegetative material, and seeds putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
4. Changes cups on the greens and moves tee markers as instructed.
5. Maintains ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers.
6. Safely operates light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
7. Trims trees, prunes shrubbery, and cultivates shrubs and flowers as needed.
8. Assists in construction of new greens, tees, and, fairways by grading, preparing soil and planting.
9. Responsible for seeing that daily assignments are completed in the respective areas, to meet Club standards and as communicated by the supervisor (ie no trash/debris on course, etc.).
10. Assist fellow co-workers to ensure quality of service without being directed. Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team.
11. Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify any complaints as soon as possible.
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each Employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
2. Adhere to all of the various company, club and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
3. Ability to focus attention on detail.
4. Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and assuring that others are acting safely.
5. Attendance at morning meetings and participating as requested.
Wearing a clean and neat uniform daily.
