The Pickleball Pro / Facility Manager is responsible for leading, growing, and promoting all pickleball programming while overseeing the daily operations of the Pickleball Pro Shop and Sports Complex. This role combines creating fun and activity with on-court instruction, player development, retail management, member engagement, and event coordination. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, highly organized, and passionate about activating and growing the game of pickleball in a club environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pickleball Instruction & Programming (REQUIRED)
- Provide fun-quality pickleball instruction through group clinics, drills, and beginner programs
- Develop and oversee pickleball programming for all skill levels, including leagues, ladders, round robins, and social play
- Organize and manage pickleball tournaments, special events, exhibitions, and inter-club matches
- Assist members with skill development, rules education, and strategy
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and sportsmanlike pickleball culture
- Monitor court usage and assist with scheduling to ensure fair and efficient play
Pro Shop Management
- Oversee daily operations of the Pickleball Pro Shop and other facility amenities
- Manage inventory, including paddles, balls, apparel, accessories, and demo equipment
- Coordinate ordering, merchandising, pricing, and vendor relationships
- Ensure the Pro Shop is clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, member accounts, and basic financial reporting
- Track sales, inventory levels, and recommend new products based on trends and member demand
Member Experience & Engagement
- Serve as a visible, friendly ambassador for pickleball within the club
- Build strong relationships with members and encourage participation
- Collaborate with marketing and recreation teams to promote programs, lessons, and events
- Assist with onboarding new members interested in pickleball
- Address member questions or concerns professionally and promptly
Administration & Operations
- Create and maintain lesson schedules, league calendars, and event sign-ups
- Communicate clearly with members via email, flyers, social media, or club platforms
- Assist with court maintenance needs and report issues as necessary
- Follow all club policies, safety guidelines, and operational procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Pickleball Professional (PPR, IPTPA, or equivalent preferred)
- Strong playing background and thorough knowledge of pickleball rules and strategy
- Previous experience teaching pickleball or similar racquet/paddle sports
- Retail or pro shop management experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and basic computer programs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate pickleball techniques and drills
- Ability to lift and move equipment and merchandise as needed
