The Villages Early Childhood Center is seeking a Site Director. This position directly supervises teachers, assistants, and office staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide administrative support and leadership in all aspects of the Early Childhood Center program at the center level. Including interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Make decisions in regard to teacher selection and placement.
2. Maintains immunization and health records, and all other student and employee paperwork as required by state licensing.
3. Establish and maintain open and positive communication with all stakeholders.
4. Work with teachers, assistants, support staff and parent volunteers in planning learning
activities and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning.
5. Plan and implement staff development and in-service training.
6. Implement The Villages Early Childhood Center (TVECC) policies and procedures.
7. Plan, prepare, and maintain a budget.
8. Collect, record, and maintain accurate records of payments and accounting needs.
9. Maintain files and requirements for state licensing.
10. Work as a team with other center administrators.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Educational Leadership preferred and a current state of Florida Director’s Credential and VPK Endorsement.
2. Minimum 3 years related experience in the Early Childhood field.
3. Experience with administrative duties of running a business or a large school.
4. Excellent people skills/especially communication
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to active, typical of a vibrant early childhood learning environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the TVECC policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be full-time for 260 days.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of TVECC policy on evaluations of personnel.
