We are looking for someone reliable, self-motivated, and not afraid to get a little dirty sometimes. You must be available for weekends and holidays. General duties include but may not be limited to keeping the facilities clean and sanitized, walking, supervising yard time, bathing, feeding, and medicating (per doctor directions). Kennel Attendants are also responsible for observing, documenting, and communicating patient's condition to a Veterinarian and/or Veterinary Technician.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and grooming
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal behavior understanding
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor exercise routines to ensure pets are happy and healthy
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks and assist during routine check-ups or treatments
- Monitor animals’ health and behavior, reporting any concerns to supervisors promptly
- Engage with pet owners in a friendly manner, answering questions about pet care services and facility policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet sitting, or kennel environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and dog training methods
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a sanitized pet care environment
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely (heavy lifting) and perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards pet owners and team members
- Familiarity with pet grooming (bathing/brushing), animal behavior, and pet boarding procedures is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
