Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Manager for our After School Care program. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children, and coordinating activities that promote childhood development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare, education, or related fields, along with excellent management skills to lead a team of staff and foster positive relationships with children and their families.
Hours are 3:15-5:45 daily!
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily after-school activities, ensuring they align with educational and developmental goals
- Manage classroom environments to promote safety, engagement, and positive behavior among children
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and enrichment programs including arts, sports, theater, or tutoring activities
- Oversee staff schedules, provide training, and support team members in delivering quality care
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, including first aid procedures and child protection policies
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and program updates
- Organize special events or outings that enhance the after-school experience
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and needs, including children requiring special education support or behavior management strategies
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, or babysitting
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle behavioral challenges effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- First aid certification and familiarity with safety protocols for children
- Experience in special education or behavior management is highly desirable
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of staff members while maintaining a positive environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Background in teaching, sports coaching, theater arts, or other child-focused activities is a plus
