The Village Life Center is currently hiring for the following positions:

Mental Health Specialist (MHS) and Mental Health Professionals (MHP)

Part-time and Full-time opportunities available

OVERVIEW:

TVLC serves children, adolescents, and adults. We are seeking motivated MHSs & MHPs to deliver services are designed to meet the mental health needs of clients using evidence-based interventions.
Services are provided in-home, in-school, or other approved/appropriate community settings, and virtually. Our services are client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal specific interventions. TVLC provides a supportive, team-oriented environment where you are celebrated for hard work and solution focused efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver in-home, in-school, in-community Mental Health Rehabilitation Services.
  • Provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR), services designed to assist the individual with compensating for or eliminating functional deficits and interpersonal or environmental barriers associated with mental illness through skill building and supportive interventions to restore and rehabilitate social and interpersonal skills and daily living skills.
  • Provide Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST); services designed to reduce disability from mental illness, restore functional skills of daily living, build natural supports, and achieve identified person-centered goals or objectives through counseling, clinical psychoeducation, and ongoing monitoring needs as set forth in an individualized treatment plan.
  • Assist clients in restoring, rehabilitating, and developing social and interpersonal skills.
  • Identify, enhance, and establish support networks, community awareness, coping strategies, and improve functioning in the individual’s social environments (home, work, school).
  • Help restore, rehabilitate, and support the development of daily living skills.
  • Help improve client’s self-management of the negative effects of psychiatric or emotional symptoms.
  • Assists clients in identifying, effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors (“triggers”) that lead to functional impairments.
  • Continually assess client needs, service availability and appropriateness.
  • Communicate client’s status on a regular basis, including, but not limited to changes in mood or functioning, medical issues and all crisis and health and safety issues.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention services to recipients as needed according to agency policies, procedures, and service definitions.
  • Work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Person-Centered Plan.
  • Provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including 90-day client updates progress notes and submit said documentation as specified by agency standards.
  • Maintain caseload and well-organized schedule to meet productivity expectations.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings for agency communication, clinical consultation and training.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with direct supervisor, community and natural supports as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adept at producing effective, clinical documentation.
  • Attend all office trainings as well as regular clinical supervision sessions with Clinical Manager.
  • Document services provided regularly, concisely, and completely in accordance with clinical standards and office deadlines.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Mental Health Specialist (MHS): Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, rehabilitation services, special education, early childhood education, secondary education, family and consumer sciences, criminal justice, or human growth and development. (CAN PROVIDE PSR ONLY)

Mental Health Professional (MHP): Fully or Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Professional,
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or PLPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT or PLMFT), a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified Social Worker, or a Psychology Intern from an American Psychological Association approved internship program. (CAN PROVIDE PSR & CPST)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of or experience working in behavioral/mental health field through a combination of work experience, internships, or coursework.
  • Professional, organized, strict adherence to HIPPA regulations and client safety.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Hourly PAY Rates:

MHS - $25/hr (Master’s Level) & MHP - $33-$35/hr (Licensed or Provisionally Licensed)

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Plaquemine, LA 70764: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
