The Village is accredited by the International Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its Adoptions, Foster Care, Mental Health, Wraparound, and Drop-In Center services. We deliver evidenced-based behavioral health services to children, youth and adults, and has long been at the forefront of culturally sensitive foster care and adoption services.
OVERVIEW: The Events & Communications Intern will support the Development and Communications team with social media, volunteer engagement, and event coordination. This position is ideal for a student or emerging professional seeking hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, event management, and community engagement.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in nonprofit work, events, and community engagement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create engaging social media assets (graphics, short videos, captions) and schedule/post content across platforms.
- Assist with event logistics including managing volunteers, tracking RSVPs and attendance, and coordinating vendor communications.
- Provide on-site event support as needed.
- Help organize and manage volunteer events, including outreach, scheduling, and day-of coordination.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and event outcomes.
- Support follow-up activities with attendees, volunteers, and vendors.

SCHEDULE: 10 hours per week, flexible scheduling with occasional evenings or weekends for events
