What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional-Residential (Part - Time Overnights) position at The Village Community?
The Village Community is a small, non-profit, disability service organization that serves 20 individuals with intellectual disabilities through our day habilitation and 24/7 residential settings.
We are specifically looking for staff to provide support in the residential setting during our OVERNIGHT SHIFT (10p - 6a).
Hourly wage start at $14.25/hour for overnight shifts.

The Direct Support Professional position is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities preferred
3. Good written and verbal communication skills are needed.
4. Ability to deal with change effectively. Willingness to be flexible with job tasks.
5. Ability to conduct self in a professional, diplomatic manner at all times and in all situations.
6. Ability to organize and carry out an independent plan of work.
7. Basic computer knowledge.
8. Dependable.
9. Satisfactory completion of Department of Criminal Investigation Records Check, Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Record Check, Department of Transportation Driving Records Check, and Officer of Inspector General registry check.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure all members in your care are safe, supervised, and accounted for at all times.
2. Know what is developmentally appropriate for the members, set clear, consistent behavioral limits, and use only positive discipline techniques.
3. Follow the individual plan for support for the members in your care.
4. Communicate with members and member guardians in a positive and supportive manner.
5. Complete the necessary documentation within time requirements with accuracy including, but not limited to, daily notes, incident reports, medication forms, etc.
6. Communicate openly with your coworkers and administration to ensure effective and efficient service provision.
7. Perform general caregiving duties including, but not limited to, assistance with toileting, hand washing, serving meals, etc.
8. Perform general housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, taking out the garbage, sweeping and vacuuming, wiping down tables, etc.
9. Demonstrate dependability by working your scheduled work hours and using personal time (if applicable) according to The Village Community policy.
10. Remain current on all required training.
11. Transport members safely to and from The Village Community’s primary location and into the greater community. This requires the maintenance of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
