Prep Cook

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, peeling, and measuring to ensure smooth flow of kitchen operations
• Assist in cooking and food preparation tasks according to established recipes and standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols
• Support the kitchen team in meal assembly, plating, and portioning to ensure consistency and presentation quality
• Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
• Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes or special events
• Support catering efforts by preparing large quantities of food in accordance with event specifications

Experience

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Kitchen experience in restaurants or food service environments is preferred
• Familiarity with food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices is essential
• Experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly is beneficial
• Skills in knife handling, portioning, and basic culinary techniques are important
• Knowledge of menu planning and food service operations will enhance your effectiveness in this role
• Prior experience in catering or serving in a fast-paced food industry setting is a plus

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
