Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Grade 8 Mathematics Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic middle school classroom environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various mathematical disciplines, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math. Duties

• Deliver comprehensive mathematics instruction aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate innovative teaching strategies and learning technology.
• Assess student understanding through quizzes, tests, and projects; provide timely feedback.
• Manage classroom behavior to create a respectful and productive learning environment.
• Prepare students for standardized testing by designing practice exercises and review sessions.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral support.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with educational best practices.

Experience

• Prior classroom experience teaching mathematics at the middle school level is preferred.
• Experience working with students of varying abilities.
• Proven skills in lesson planning, instructional design.
• Strong communication skills for effective classroom management and mentoring roles.
• Experience utilizing learning technology tools for instruction and assessment purposes.
• Background in higher education teaching or curriculum development related to mathematics or science disciplines is a plus. Degree: Bachelors plus complete specific math coursework, finish an approved Teacher Preparation Program (like Alternate Route), and pass required exams.
NJ Certification Needed:
Mathematics (1900) or
Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization Grades5-8-
Mathematics (1102) or
STEM (1107)

Pay: $62,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
