Job Summary:
The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors in an assisted living community. This role supports infection control, resident satisfaction, and overall facility appearance through routine cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and hallways
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces in accordance with infection control protocols
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste, including biohazard materials if applicable
- Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or urgent cleaning needs
- Address maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisor
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, CDC, and facility policies)
- Interact respectfully and compassionately with residents, recognizing their needs and privacy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle physical demands (standing, bending, lifting up to 25β50 lbs)
