Human Resources Director

The Village at Brookwood is a nonprofit Life Plan Community in Burlington, NC, dedicated to helping older adults thrive in a welcoming, service-focused environment. As part of Kintura, a not-for-profit leader in senior living and services, The Village at Brookwood is home to nearly 300 residents and approximately 160 team members.

Our community offers independent living along with assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and short-term rehabilitation. Our team is united by a shared commitment to exceptional service, strong relationships, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide HR leadership for The Village at Brookwood. This full-time, on-site position partners closely with community leadership and Kintura’s corporate HR team to create an exceptional workplace where team members feel supported, engaged, and connected to our mission.

The HR Director will oversee and support key HR functions, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, coaching, training and development, performance management, workplace culture and morale, HR policies and practices, and regulatory compliance.

This role is ideal for an HR leader who brings initiative, creativity, a heart for service, and a passion for developing people and strengthening organizational culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Previous HR leadership or strong HR generalist experience
• Experience with employee relations, coaching, recruitment, performance management, and team development
• Demonstrated success supporting employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, and OSHA requirements
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and team members at all levels
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or a service-focused environment preferred
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus
