Recreation Aid

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic recreation aid to support our recreation team in planning and implementing recreational programs that meet physical, social and emotional, and cognitive needs for our residents.

Schedule: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday / 35 hours weekly 9am - 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, organization, and execution of diverse recreational programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents.
• Assess residents’ needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans.
• Maintain participation logs for programs
• Foster relationships with residents and their families to encourage participation and feedback.
• Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluation.
• Participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated
• Understands and follows universal precautions an MSDS books
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a recreational or therapeutic setting, preferably in long-term care.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to recreational activities.
