About the Role
The Vibrant Book Club City Host is a part-time, independent contractor role designed to support our expansion into new cities.
This is an event-based role, with most events taking place on evenings and weekends.
As a City Host, you will:
- Help plan, set up, and host local events
- Coordinate with venues and support event logistics
- Create a welcoming, community-driven experience for attendees
- Manage and grow your city’s Instagram presence
- Capture content and support local marketing efforts
- Act as the face of The Vibrant Book Club in your city
You’ll be supported with:
- Event templates and systems
- Marketing guidance and resources
- Ongoing training and support
- Access to our (growing) host education portal
Compensation
This is not an hourly role.
Compensation is event-based and varies depending on the type and size of the event.
- City Hosts receive 20% of net ticket sales for ticketed events
- For market-style events (such as book fairs), hosts receive a flat day rate
To give a general idea:
- Market-style events typically range from $100–$200 per event day
- For ticketed events, earnings can average around $12–$30/hour depending on attendance and ticket sales
This role is ideal as a flexible side hustle, with income that grows alongside your city’s events.
Estimated time commitment:
4–10 hours per month (varies based on events)
