Job Summary
THE VET ON MAIN is seeking an Experienced and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in animal care, veterinary procedures, and technical skills essential for supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients, including cats, dogs and pocket pets. As a Veterinary Technician at THE VET ON MAIN, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate pet care, assisting with diagnostics and surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional veterinary services and promoting animal health.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and surgical/dental procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Perform animal restraint and handling while ensuring safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection, processing, and analysis.
- Maintain detailed medical records, documenting treatments, procedures, patient progress and client communications in compliance with clinic standards.
- Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic imaging such as X-ray, ensuring proper positioning and restraint.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians with precision and care.
- Dispense and refill pet medication as well as instruct owners on administration.
- Schedule recheck appointments and discuss home care instructions with clients.
- Maintain cleanliness of the hospital and practice proper infection control measures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role within a veterinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary procedures.
- Experience with drawing blood, laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, animal catheterization, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform animal restraint effectively across various species.

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
