Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Industrial Hygienist to join our Industrial Hygiene team in Dallas, TX. In this client-facing role, you will anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace environmental hazards, including occupational safety and health (OSH), indoor air quality, water quality, noise, and mold.

You will play a key role in supporting both industrial and healthcare safety programs, managing field assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. This position is well suited for individuals with a strong foundation in industrial hygiene who are interested in leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting a diverse range of client environments and industries. You will work alongside experienced CIHs, CSPs, and consultants in a collaborative environment, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Core Responsibilities

Work Product Creation, Project Management, Coordination with Team Members

  • Lead and conduct industrial hygiene exposure assessments, investigations, and sampling activities
  • Develop and implement sampling plans based on project scope and applicable regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Evaluate workplace environments for potential chemical, physical, and biological hazards and recommend appropriate control measures
  • Support occupational health and safety (OSH) compliance initiatives, including in healthcare environments
  • Support physical environment consulting for healthcare facilities, including assessments related to regulatory compliance, life safety, and accreditation requirements
  • Provide and support consulting services for healthcare clients, including infection control risk assessments (ICRA), ST-108 compliance, and Joint Commission readiness initiatives
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards to support client compliance
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients on assigned projects, providing technical guidance and support
  • Prepare technical reports and communicate findings and recommendations to clients
  • Assist with occupational health and safety training initiatives and audits
  • Collaborate with senior industrial hygiene staff (CIH, CSP) on workplace evaluations and projects
  • Mentor and support junior staff in field activities, data collection, and project execution
  • Maintain accurate field notes, data, and documentation
  • Ability and willingness to travel for regional projects, including occasional overnight or extended travel

  • Cooperate in construction of strong cross-functional teams (cooperate with any suggested project assignments outside of original assigned practice area) to achieve success in shared goals, understanding that multiple perspectives and talents build stronger teams and results
  • Complete daily tasks consistently

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, a Master's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience and no degree.
  • 5–7 years of experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health, or environmental consulting
  • Experience conducting field sampling, exposure assessments, and workplace evaluations
  • Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles and field sampling methods
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene equipment, including air sampling pumps, noise dosimeters, and direct-reading instruments
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings to clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a client-focused environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data management
  • Proven track record of independent work product production, project management, communication, and coordination with other team members
  • Demonstrated management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progress toward or interest in obtaining CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • Experience supporting healthcare clients, including infection control risk assessments (ICRA), ST-108 compliance, and Joint Commission readiness initiatives
  • Appropriate state or nationally recognized certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP, CMC, CIEC, TDLR MAT/MAC)
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification and medical monitoring in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk job sites during inspections, including uneven terrain, and climb ladders to access and evaluate roofs and rooftop equipment
  • Ability to carry field testing equipment weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
  • Participation in the VERTEX medical monitoring program is required for applicable project work, including medical/physical exams, respiratory protection fit testing, and PPE training
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation projects, or other tasks involving potential exposure risks
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites
