Responsibilities
- Assist with food production and meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to individual preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, dishwashers, and food handling tools
- Support dietary department tasks such as inventory management, food handling, and proper storage practices
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or moving supplies to prevent injury
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other team members to ensure timely delivery of meals and exceptional resident care
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation procedures
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to workplace safety protocols
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward working with elderly residents
