What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Pet Care Specialist position at The Velvet Leash?
WANTED: Someone Who Talks to Dogs in a Baby Voice (No Judgment)
The Velvet Leash is hiring, and honestly? We need someone a little unhinged about animals. If you've ever rearranged your whole day around a dog's nap schedule, keep reading.
The Job:
You'll walk dogs, feed cats who pretend they don't need you (they do), and occasionally stare deeply into a bearded dragon's eyes because someone's paying you to check on it. Some days it's a quick visit. Some days it's a full overnight slumber party with a golden retriever who insists on being the big spoon.
What We Actually Need From You:
- You show up. Every time. On time. We're not asking you to be a hero — just reliable enough that we never have to wonder.
- You can text back like a normal human. "On my way!" takes four seconds. Use them.
- You can keep your schedule straight without a meltdown. Multiple pets, multiple homes, multiple feeding times — we need someone whose brain doesn't short-circuit over logistics.
- You've actually been around animals before. This is not the job where you learn on day one that cats have opinions.
What You Do NOT Need:
- A business degree
- Perfect posture
- To pretend you don't talk to animals like they're people (we already know you do)
Perks:
Flexible schedule, genuinely good company (the four-legged kind), and the quiet joy of being a dog's favorite part of their day. We are a family- like business who all work together as a team. We have fun, love animals & are honored to be a part of clients lives.
