Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure safety and respond promptly to any emergencies or needs that arise
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, mobility, and medication reminders
- Conduct regular checks on residents' vital signs and overall health status using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
- Provide compassionate support for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents with mobility devices such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely and comfortably
- Prepare nutritious meals or snacks as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas, adhering to infection control protocols
- Document all interactions, incidents, and health updates accurately in resident records
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to coordinate care plans and ensure resident needs are met
Requirements
- Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices
- Certification or experience in first aid, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, team members, and emergency responders
- Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently and accurately document resident information
- Valid driver's license for potential transportation needs within the community or for errands is a plus
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts in a dynamic environment that requires quick thinking and compassionate care
