What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donor Relations & Development Intern position at THE V FOUNDATION?
The V Foundation for Cancer Research is seeking a motivated, mission-driven Donor Relations & Development Intern to join our team for an intensive eight-week program. The individual will be deeply embedded in the fundraising cycle, gaining hands-on experience in high-touch stewardship and frontline strategy. The position will work directly with the Director, Donor Relations to learn how a national non-profit maintains relationships with major and principal gift donors to achieve one goal: Victory Over Cancer ®.
- During the eight-week program, the Intern will be responsible for four major deliverables:
- Leadership Acknowledgements - Triage and execute three batches of high-level donor acknowledgements.
- Impact Reporting - Build content blocks in our digital reporting tool, Storyraise and create two digital impact reports.
- Executive Event Briefings - Collaborate across teams to compile strategic briefings for one of our signature fundraising events.
- The Impact Library - Review and curate a robust library of stories from grantees, thrivers and partners to be used in future donor meetings.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Writing excellence - the ability to write with empathy, clarity and a professional tone.
- Design Comfort - familiarity with drag-and-drop tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
- Detail-Oriented - sharp eye for accuracy in data and communications.
- Curiosity - natural comfort asking questions and a strong interest in mission-based non-profit work.
Preferred Experience includes:
- Technical Tools - experience with WYSIWYG web tools (WordPress/Squarespace) or CRMs (Salesforce/Blackbaud).
- Data Skills - advanced facility in MS Excel or Google sheets.
- Fundraising Background - previous experience with university telethons, student ambassador programs or student-led giving initiatives.
