Overview

HOURLY RATE (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $62.50 - $79.32

SCOPE: The Infusion RN is responsible for providing patient care in the infusion setting under physician supervision, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires effective interaction with patients, their families, and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice.

LOCATION: Float to other clinic locations when needed.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer chemotherapy and related treatments, ensuring safe and effective patient care both directly and indirectly.
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments in-person or via phone triage.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record using designated nursing forms.
  • Support treatment adherence by monitoring patient compliance and promoting continuity of care.
  • Ensure the infusion center meets all safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients’ psychosocial well-being and support needs.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and pharmacy teams to facilitate on-site processing and medication preparation.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Nurse Manager or Clinical Manager.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; minimum of one year of oncology nursing experience preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, with at least one year of oncology experience.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification preferred.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
  • At least 1 year of experience in an outpatient oncology infusion center preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical requirements outlined below represent those necessary for an employee to perform the essential duties of this role successfully. This position requires a full range of physical movement, including lifting and assisting patients, as well as manual dexterity and coordination. Prolonged periods of standing and walking are expected. The role may occasionally involve lifting and carrying items weighing between 11 and 20 pounds.
