What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assistant position at The Urbside?
This is an entry-level position, and no previous experience is required. We will provide training for the tools, equipment, and production processes used in our shop. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to learn about custom apparel, engraving, embroidery, printing, and promotional products.
Job Responsibilities
The Production Assistant will help with day-to-day production tasks, including:
- Packaging customer orders
- Operating laser and embroidery machines after training
- Assisting with heat press work
- Helping with production and order preparation
- Basic design and file preparation
- Quality control before orders are completed
- Preparing items for pickup, delivery, or shipping
- Keeping the work area clean and organized
- Assisting with other shop tasks as needed
Requirements
- No previous experience required
- Must be dependable and willing to learn
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable working with your hands
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Able to complete hands-on production tasks safely and accurately, including standing for extended periods as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be available Monday through Friday, with some weekends as needed
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
Helpful, But Not Required
- Experience with crafts, DIY projects, apparel, printing, embroidery, or design
- Being creative or “crafty”
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Comfortable using computers or design software
- Enjoys making things and working on custom products
Pay: From $11.50 per hour
