The Urban Arborist is a growing, high-standard tree care company serving residential, commercial, and municipal clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in thoughtful, technically sound arboriculture—balancing tree health, safety, aesthetics, and long-term stewardship.
We are actively expanding into larger, more complex projects and are looking for a skilled Arborist Representative who can help us elevate both our client experience and project execution.
The RoleThis is a client-facing, field-based position combining arboricultural expertise, consulting, sales, and project coordination.
You’ll meet with clients on-site, assess trees and landscapes, develop recommendations, and translate that into clear, compelling proposals. You’ll also work closely with our field crews to ensure projects are executed to a high standard and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site consultations for residential and commercial clients
- Diagnose tree health, structural issues, and risk factors
- Develop pruning, removal, planting, and plant health care recommendations
- Prepare clear, accurate proposals and scopes of work
- Communicate professionally with clients from first contact through project completion
- Coordinate with crew foremen and field teams to ensure proper execution of work
- Provide quality control oversight and confirm projects are completed to company standards
- Follow up with clients post-completion to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Build long-term client relationships and generate repeat business
- Identify and pursue larger-scale or higher-value project opportunities
- ISA Certified Arborist (required or strongly preferred)
- 3 years experience in arboriculture (field client-facing preferred)
- Strong tree identification and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sales experience or aptitude (consultative, not pushy)
- Organized and self-directed
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and communicate effectively with crews
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Compensation $70,000–$130,000 (depending on experience and performance)
