Retail Store Manager (Center Manager) — The UPS Store (Nebraska)
Location: Grand Island, NE (Retail Storefront — Not Warehouse/Corporate)
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $18.50/hour (Manager-in-Training rate; increases based on experience and performance) performance bonus
Schedule/Hours: Mon–Fri 8:00am–6:30pm; Sat 9:00am–3:00pm; Sun 9:00am–3:00pm (Weekend availability required as scheduled)
Position Overview
This position is for the retail location of The UPS Store—not a warehouse or corporate role. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the retail center. The Store Manager will open and close the store, manage productivity, ensure the team delivers world-class customer service, monitor cost control and expenses, and provide weekly and monthly reports to the franchise owner.
The Store Manager is ultimately accountable for profit/loss performance, continuous improvement, service delivery levels, personnel management, and business development.

The UPS Store is a network of individually owned and operated franchised service centers specializing in small business solutions. Our organization consists of five Nebraska locations including Bellevue, Omaha, Grand Island, North Platte, and Kearney.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has post–high school education (college coursework, degree, or technical school), 5 years of customer-facing retail management/store operations experience, strong leadership skills, excellent computer/software knowledge, and the physical ability to perform the job (lifting, bending, etc.).
You “listen and lead,” bring energy and accountability, and can motivate a sales-driven retail team to optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform personnel management including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching associates
- Schedule work assignments and facilitate weekly or monthly staff meetings
- Monitor, evaluate, and maximize customer service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain weekend availability as required by scheduling needs
- Manage store financials and prepare/provide reporting to the franchise owner
- Manage inventory (ordering, receiving, organization, accuracy)
- Review daily employee timecards/timesheets and submit for payroll processing
- Oversee store maintenance including cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5 years of customer-facing retail operations experience
- Post–high school education preferred (degree/coursework/technical school)
- Previous store management experience preferred, including personnel management
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
- Strong management and leadership skills; ability to coach performance and drive accountability
- Willing to accept full accountability for store operations and results
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (standing, lifting, bending, carrying)
Pay & Growth
- Starting pay: $18.50/hour (Manager-in-Training rate)
