Sales and Customer Service Associate - The UPS Store (Woodbridge, VA)
Employment type: full-time (40 hours)
The UPS Store is the nations' leading franchiser of shipping, mailbox and printing services has an excellent opportunity for a Sales Associate. While this position requires a general aptitude related to technical endeavors such as digital printing, sophisticated POS's, etc., at the core, we seek a person who loves helping people. This position centers around providing business service support to customers. We have a regular, loyal base of customers who are critical to our success. If you do not love helping people, making people at ease, going above and beyond for people, then this is not the position for you.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prior retail / hospitality experience preferred; outgoing individual with excellent customer service skills and know-how; computer skills must be comprehensive as 95% of the services we offer in the store require technical capabilities; must be very detail oriented and organized; must be a team player, this position requires reliability and dependability; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to work Saturdays on a regular basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Work directly with customers to offer packaging and shipping for customers, professional and timely printing solutions, faxing, taking passport photos, stocking, cleaning, selling retail gift items, using POS to ring in sales, etc. Training provided. Increased responsibilities and advancement with proven performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers in a friendly manner; determine customer needs, and how to exceed their expectations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through customer engagement and quality product delivery.
- Be knowledgeable of products and services offered and properly promote them to customers.
- Identify customer needs and offer additional services which could benefit them. - Receive, sort and place mail in mailboxes accurately.
- Record all sales transactions completely and accurately in Point of Sale system.
- Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.- Receive and prepare documents for printing.
- Operate all other software packages.
- Receive and process packages for shipping, including lifting and weighing packages, accessing shipment manifesting software, and generating labels. May require retrieving packages from customer's vehicle when requested.
- Process and document damaged shipments, late and lost package claims.
- Assist in merchandising the store, including: stocking shelves with product, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of product, informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies.
- Perform end of day duties: reconciliation of cash, checks, money orders, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately and in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Operate copiers, fax machines, binding equipment and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Help customers operate office machines located in retail area.
- General housekeeping duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required education:- High school or equivalent
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
