Full job description

The Retail Sales Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment along with operating copiers, fax machines, point-of-sale devices, and package management software. The Retail Sales Associate also assists in packing items for shipping, servicing in-store mailbox customers and processing returns for our corporate retail partners. The Associate expertly assists our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS: Prior retail and sales experience preferred; outgoing individual with excellent customer service skills; strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites; excellent communication skills; great multitasker; must be very detail oriented and organized; must be a fast learner; must be a team player, this position also requires you to be reliable, dependable and punctual; must be able to lift up to 40 pounds; ability to upsell and cross sell; must be able to work on the weekends on a regular basis and able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs; must be willing to qualify for notary license and become a notary public in the state of New Jersey; must have strong verbal, written and organizational skills; ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment; ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work directly with customers to offer packaging and shipping services, professional and timely printing solutions, faxing, taking passport photos, stocking, cleaning, selling retail items, using POS to ring out sales transactions while finding creative ways to upsell and cross sell, etc. Training provided. Increased responsibilities and other duties are also required/assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers in a friendly manner; determine customer needs, and how to exceed their expectations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through customer engagement and quality product delivery.
• Be knowledgeable of products and services offered and properly promote them to customers.
• Identify customer needs and offer additional services which could benefit them. - Receive, sort and place mail in mailboxes accurately.
• Record all sales transactions completely and accurately in Point-of-Sale system.
• Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products. - Receive and prepare documents for printing.
• Operate all other software packages.
• Receive and process packages for shipping, including lifting and weighing packages, accessing shipment manifesting software, and generating labels.
• Process and file claims for damaged, late and lost shipments.
• Assist in merchandising the store, including stocking shelves with product, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of products including but not limited to the retail area and mailroom. Informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies as needed.
• Perform end of day duties: reconciliation of cash, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately and in accordance with company policy and procedure.
• Operate copiers, fax machines, binding equipment and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
• General housekeeping duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
