Position Overview
The UPS Store in Grenada, MS is seeking an energetic, customer-focused Retail Sales & Solutions Associate to join our team. This role goes beyond standard retail cash handling—you will serve as a solutions consultant for local business owners, residents, and commercial clients.
As the face of our store, you will handle retail transactions, consultative sales for commercial printing, mailbox services, custom packaging, and freight shipping solutions while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Consultative Sales & Upselling: Engage retail and business customers to understand their operational needs; recommend and cross-sell high-value services including commercial print jobs, corporate mailbox subscriptions, custom packaging, and freight/shattering solutions.
- Customer Service & Operations: Greet customers promptly, execute POS transactions accurately, process package drop-offs, and handle complex returns efficiently.
- Print Production & Graphic Support: Operate digital print and finishing equipment (binding, laminating, cutting) to produce high-quality flyers, banners, business cards, and marketing materials for local businesses.
- Mailbox & Shipping Management: Sort incoming mail and packages for virtual and physical mailbox subscribers; prepare items for shipping using UPS proprietary logistics software.
- Store Appearance & Inventory: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked retail floor; manage packing supply inventory and clean work areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in retail sales, customer service, counter sales, or print/office supply services (preferred).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor suitable for B2B customer interactions.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating point-of-sale (POS) software, Microsoft Office Suite, and learning proprietary logistics and printing tools. Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop) experience is a plus.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Work Authorization & Background: Must pass a standard background check and notary public certification requirements (paid for by employer).
