Sales Associate/Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier/Sales team member to join our retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
• Process cash and credit transactions accurately using the cash register.
• Handle cash responsibly, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to provide accurate information to customers.
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the store is well-presented.
• Conduct product demos to engage customers and promote sales.
• Supervise junior staff members during shifts, providing guidance as needed.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
• Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.

Skills

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred.
• Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in financial transactions.
• Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and change calculation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, both verbally and in writing.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for inventory management and sales tracking.
• Experience in supervising or training staff is beneficial.
• Capable of stocking shelves efficiently while maintaining organization within the store.
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
