Customer Service Representative - UPS Store (Walnut Creek) The UPS Store offers consumers and small businesses a wide range of products and services, including, Packaging and Shipping services, Notary Services, LiveScan Fingerprinting, Copy Services, Private Mailbox Rentals, Office Supplies, and Document Services. The ideal candidate will be a team player, reliable, and able to multi-task.

A friendly demeanor and professional appearance is a must. We are looking for individuals with the following qualities and qualifications: - Friendly, Motivated, and Eager to Learn - Team Player with Good People Skills - Must have basic Computer Skills (Windows, Typing, etc.) - Ability to Handle Multiple Tasks - Minimum Education: High School Graduate/GED Certificate - Customer Service Experience - Notary Public is a plus - Design Experience a plus

Successful Associates will:

- provide outstanding customer service by consulting with the customer, anticipating needs, suggesting products and alternatives, and finding solutions;

- provide customer expertise in printing and shipping products;

- provide packing expertise and shipping solutions for customers shipping domestically and internationally;

- operate copying, printing, binding, and laminating equipment for customer jobs;

- processes financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS),including handling cash and making change;

- clean and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability;

- stay current on retail Store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail area products.

Qualified Candidates will also be able to:

- stand during entire shift,
- move and lift 50 pounds
- communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other associates

- function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure

- work with minimal supervision

- report regularly to work and maintain established work-shift hours

Full Job Description

We are looking for a Notary/Sales Associate responsible for delivering world-class customer service to all retail customers.

The Associate receives and processes packages for shipment, prepares files for printing, assists customers with notary service, opens mailboxes for potential customers, and operates point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options.

The Associate exhibits confidence by knowing best practices respective to the industry. The ideal sales associate will have retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, a professional appearance, and a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
• Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership.
• Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions.
• Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends.
• Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an appropriate manner and is willing to teach others.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains a positive demeanor and energy while helping a high volume of customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prompt, reliable, and responsible
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
• Able to operate independently and be self-driven to complete tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Open to attaining a Notary license
• Ability to cross-sell and up-sell

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift, 6 hour & 4 hour shifts
• Day shift, morning & afternoon
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability required
