PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Develop and coordinate annual giving campaigns for assigned colleges, programs, and departments at The University of Toledo to increase philanthropic support through donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation strategies. Assist in the planning and execution of special fundraising initiatives, including Rocket Forward Day of Giving. Responsibilities include coordinating multi-channel solicitation efforts, including direct mail, email, web-based giving, crowdfunding, and other digital engagement strategies in support of assigned programs.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:

The following duties reflect management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Work in collaboration with assigned campus partners and programs to develop, plan and execute strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies to encourage alumni, friends, students, parents and patients to give.
  • Collaborate with Advancement staff and campus partners to cultivate and steward donors with a focus on moving donors to higher giving levels to ensure continued annual support.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, goal planning, and other tasks as needed for special campaigns including Rocket Forward Day of Giving.
  • Respond to needs/concerns of donors re: fundraising efforts, solicitations, etc.
  • Create customized giving reports for development staff, deans, donors and faculty as needed.
  • This role may include management of a portfolio of leadership annual giving donors, developing and executing tailored engagement strategies to strengthen relationships and inspire increased giving.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required, along with a minimum of three years of fundraising, development, or comparable professional experience. Demonstrated leadership and management experience is preferred. Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, managing budgets, and analyzing data to support decision-making and measure results. The ability to learn and effectively utilize industry-specific donor management and calling software is essential. This position also requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of events, programs, and fundraising initiatives.

Success in this role would be measured through contributions to annual fundraising and participation goals, successful execution of assigned campaigns and projects, collaboration across Advancement teams, and the effective use of data-driven fundraising strategies.

Individual goals will focus on:

  • Execution and management of assigned fundraising campaigns and projects.
  • Timely completion of campaign deliverables and stakeholder communications.
  • Management of texting, email, and digital outreach efforts.
  • Responsiveness to donor and campus partner requests.
  • Participation in strategy development and campaign analysis.


This role would also share accountability for:

  • Total appeal-coded donors and dollars raised.
  • Donor retention, acquisition, and reactivation.
  • Rocket Forward Day of Giving donor and revenue goals.
  • Growth in digital philanthropy participation and engagement.
