Salary

The annual salary for this position ranges from $68,600 to $70,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

Assists with the administration, coordination, and supervision of an advising unit/program. This includes advising students, program development and implementation, data collection/interpretation, strategic outreach and implementation of advising campaigns, preparation of reports, and meeting program objectives. Requires coordination of academic advising activities that proactively engage students in ways that help them achieve their educational pursuits. Reports to an individual who is responsible for the academic advising efforts of the College, School, or Unit (e.g, advising director).

Essential Functions

  • Provides supervision of advisors and/or support staff, accountable for performance of team, and assists with their onboarding and ongoing training. Speaks to various constituencies representing the academic program and academic advising community (e.g., students, advisors, parents, faculty, administrators, etc.) regarding the advising process, orientation, and other activities.
  • Develops, implements, and manages complex advising initiatives designed to support student success/retention outcomes for a unit, college, or school. This includes strategic outreach and implementation of advising campaigns across CONHI.
  • Collects and interprets data, creates reports, and offers ongoing program improvement suggestions for improvement. Participates in data-informed analyses and decision-making processes with advising director and/or executive team.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of all applicable federal, state, and University policies and procedures. Keep abreast of relevant academic programs and support services such as counseling and tutoring within a College and University and provide appropriate referrals to students.
  • Shares in the direct advising duties for a small diverse subpopulation, drop-ins, and/or serves as back-up for area advisors as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and six (6) years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field.
  • Experience working at a college or university providing direct academic advising assistance to a caseload of students.
  • Experience hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing outreach campaigns and conducting proactive advising.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm

Working Conditions
