JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Attending Faculty member will provide direct clinical care in the Emergency Department across UTMB clinical sites. The role includes active participation in the academic mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine through teaching, supervision, and mentorship. Teaching responsibilities include participation in departmental conferences and lectures, bedside teaching and clinical rounds, and supervision of residents and other learners in the Emergency Department. Educational activities may involve medical students, residents, fellows, nursing staff, allied health professionals, medics, and peer faculty. Faculty are expected to engage in continuing medical education and attend local, regional, and national professional meetings as appropriate. Additional responsibilities may include administrative and leadership roles within the Department, such as serving as an Assistant Residency Program Director, supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in departmental and health system committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MD in Medicine
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Commensurate with experience.
