Job Summary
The Programmer Analyst I is responsible for programming using applicable software to process internal and external data requests. This position performs data maintenance tasks as needed. The Analyst I assists staff as technical issues arise. This position performs programming analysis of moderate complexity, utilizing programing languages and platforms varying across assignments.

This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.

Core Responsibilities
- Performs programming and analysis of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights to solve technical problems.
- Maintains data repository and databases to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and supports business needs.
- Assists in the analysis of problems as defied by the supervisor and expands definition suitable to programmer’s requirements.
- Designs test files to validate functionality and efficiency and ensures requirements are met.
- Performs moderately complex programming and debugging.
- Develops efficient, fast programming techniques.
- Performs documentation to explain programs, ensure clarity for developers, testers, and end users.
- Assists in implementation of systems and job streams.
- Evaluates and modifies existing programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Conditions associated with data processing in an office environment. Duties require sitting at computer console and using a mouse and keyboard.
- Hybrid-Regularly: This position will require working both remotely and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasional.
