Position Summary
Teach CE 3243-Properties and Behavior of Engineering Materials which comprises study of the structure, properties, and behavior of engineering materials, as well as sampling, measurement and analysis of material properties using accepted testing procedures. Laboratory exercises illustrate typical material behavior using selected principles of mechanics. The instructor is expected to have ample experience in civil engineering activities including testing, specifications and design of building and infrastructure projects.
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of 08/31/2026. This position may be extended or shortened based on availability of funds and/or departmental need.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and 3 years of experience in design and construction engineering of buildings and infrastructure projects with an emphasis on materials testing. OR
- MS in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering and 10 years of experience in design and construction engineering of buildings and infrastructure projects with an emphasis on materials testing.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and use UT San Antonio applications (e.g., Canvas, Bluebook, etc.) and testing equipment.
