Hiring Department: Institutional Compliance - Title IX Program

Reports To: Title IX Coordinator

Job Location: On-site; El Paso, TX

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $45,000, commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Title IX Coordinator, the Case Intake and Assessment Analyst is responsible for managing the University’s sexual misconduct policies, as well as establishing new university compliance strategies and programs as required by Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 (as amended in 1972), as well as other related laws and regulations. The Case Intake and Assessment Analyst will play a vital role in the University’s coordinated response, prevention and education initiatives as it relates to Title IX and University policy.

Duties And Responsibilities

Processes and assists alleged victims with the filing of Title IX and other sex-based discrimination complaints, to include guiding individuals to appropriate campus and community resources and informing them of the University’s process for responding to and otherwise handling complaints.

Manages the electronic case management and record keeping system; organizes, compiles, and updates necessary case documentation and monitors case statuses.

Develops and implements a case management plan for each reported incident and investigation.

Evaluates and advises on potential risk exposure associated with complaints investigated.

Provides support in the investigation of complaints, by scheduling appointments for Title IX Coordinator and Investigators, developing notifications, interview questions, interviewing or co-interviewing witnesses, taking and transcribing interview notes, preparing and updating new and existing reports, and providing logistical support to assigned investigator(s).

Coordinates communication and correspondence with reporting parties, complainants, respondents, witnesses, and others. Answers questions regarding the Sexual Misconduct Policy and other applicable policies/complaint procedures.

Demonstrates ability to handle complex situations, including responding to parties in a sensitive and informed manner, ably tracks multiple cases, meets various deadlines, maintains neutrality, works well under stress, and performs duties impartially and confidentially throughout the investigation process.

Identifies and analyzes trends or patterns in case data and prepares regularly scheduled, detailed reports; uses data to identify and implement process improvements; works with management to establish and maintain investigation procedures.

Participates in investigation team or work group meetings; prepares and assembles materials for use at such meetings, such as case status updates, agendas, and meeting minutes.

Prepares and disseminates educational materials, including brochures, posters, and web-based materials that inform members of the campus community of their rights and responsibilities under Title IX, state law and University policy.

Assists in preparing reports as necessary to comply with State and UT System requirements.

Assists in the administration of supportive measures.

Assists with the development of Title IX-related programming and with conducting trainings; maintains and documents all trainings and educational outreach conducted for each academic year.

Administers the scheduling and handling of hearings.

Keeps up with policy and procedural changes that will affect the scope or practice of case management, as well as complete training and professional development related to Title IX and applicable laws, policies and regulations.

Some travel may be required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field

and

Experience: Three years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced or Master’s degree in related field.

Experience should demonstrate a clear understanding of Title IX and related compliance issues as well as high-level analytical skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and of its application in the interviewing of involved parties
