The Department of Teacher and Administrator Preparation in the College of Education, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a 9-month, Visiting Assistant Professor, Academic Professional Track position, with specialization in literacy studies beginning Fall 2026.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments, an understanding of the structures of schools and systems, and a commitment to developing collaborative relationships.

Required Qualifications
Required qualifications for this position include:
- An earned doctorate in literacy, reading, or curriculum and instruction with at least 18 graduate hours in literacy education by August 2026;
- Evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level;
- and a minimum of 3 years of PK-12 classroom teaching experience in literacy education.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments, an understanding of the structures of schools and systems, and a commitment to developing collaborative relationships.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in both traditional and online formats (5-course or equivalent teaching load in the fall and spring semesters);
- Contribute to curriculum development; and
- Contribute to the department, college, and university’s mission through assigned service.
