Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer provides senior level technical support of wired and wireless enterprise network with a focus on layer 3 routing, routing in the campus network environment with a focus on EVPN . Routing in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Manage AI driven wireless networks. The candidate will also embrace the organization’s Principles of Community.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science or related degree.
• Four (4) years of experience with CISCO /Juniper Network equipment, cloud networking (Azure, AWS ) or eight (8) years of an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
• Required Certification: CCNA or JNCIS - ENT
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science or related degree.
• Six (6) years of experience with Virtual Network ( VNET ) deployments, network configurations, network automation or other certifications ( CCNA Cloud, CCNA Data Center, CCNA Wireless)
  
  

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities with areas within the network telecommunications function with a focus on layer 3 routing and virtual routing and forwarding deployment and software-defined networking.
• Configure, manage, and maintain the university’s wired and wireless network infrastructure, utilizing advanced knowledge and expertise in Juniper Mist Access Points, Juniper Mist Edge, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Design, optimize, and manage the high-density wireless network using Juniper Mist infrastructure management tools and Ekahau Wi-Fi measurement tools.
• Provide support in network projects and requirements.
• Help develop and update network policies and procedures.
• Report, record, and work with departments to resolve network-related issues and incidents.
