Clinical Services Assistant Director
Pitt's highly acclaimed Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking an Assistant Director-Clinical Services.
This position will focus on addressing the functional needs of individuals experiencing homelessness, including rehabilitation support, adaptive strategies, and holistic patient-centered care. The role will enhance the program’s clinical capacity, contribute to medical student and resident education, and strengthen community partnerships. By integrating occupational therapy expertise, the position expands the program’s ability to provide comprehensive care that advances health equity and supports the university’s mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy (OTD preferred).
- Current Pennsylvania licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with underserved or vulnerable populations, ideally in community or non-traditional healthcare settings.
- Strong background in interdisciplinary care, patient advocacy, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Prior involvement in teaching, mentoring, or program development is a plus.
Contributes to the development of strategic goals and plans for clinical services. Assists with human resource actions. Identifies funding opportunities and prepares grant proposals. Conducts clinical therapy services as directed.
1. Collaborate on projects demonstrating the outcomes and value of interdisciplinary homeless healthcare.
2. Oversee Health Sciences students participating in community-based settings.
3. Teach and contribute to interprofessional education on healthcare for marginalized populations.
4. Gather and report outcomes relevant to strategic plans.
The position may require moderate physical effort, including walking in community settings and occasional lifting or transporting of equipment or adaptive devices
