| Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit | The Department of Recreation and Wellness (RecWell) is housed in the Division of Student Affairs. RecWell fosters comprehensive wellness by engaging students and the UNCG community in experiential and educational opportunities. We promote lifelong success through meaningful and inclusive programs and resources. RecWell offers comprehensive recreation and wellness programming including; fitness, aquatics, informal recreation, outdoor adventures, competitive sports, Esports, and wellness education. The department strives to provide opportunities that enhance student success. |
| Position Summary | The lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and participants by monitoring water activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing emergency assistance when necessary. Lifeguards are responsible for educating all patrons of pool policies and procedures to maintain the safety of all people using the pool and or waterfront. Strong communication skills, physical fitness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for success in this role. |
