Role Description
The Director for Experiential Education will oversee, coordinate, and enhance experiential learning opportunities for students across diverse programs at The University of Kansas. Key responsibilities include managing partnerships with external organizations, developing and implementing academic programs that integrate practical learning, and supporting faculty and staff in creating innovative experiential education initiatives. The Director will also ensure compliance with institutional standards and assess program outcomes for continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lawrence, KS.
Required Qualifications
For those applying at the Assistant Clinical Professor level:
- A terminal degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school. For pre-2000 graduates, a BS degree is considered terminal.) OR a Doctor of Philosophy in a health or healthcare related field.
- Record of effectiveness in teaching
- Experience in Experiential Education or equivalent
- Two years of management or leadership experience providing supervising and direction to others.
- Strategic vision for experiential education or learning.
- Experience with databases
- Demonstrated excellence in mentorship or precepting evidenced by evaluations or other written communications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment
- Evidence of professional leadership, teaching excellence and team management skills
- Must be licensed as a registered pharmacist in the State of Kansas or must obtain licensure through the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of start date.
- Track record of effectiveness in clinical pharmacy practice
