The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kansas Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Health System is seeking to recruit multiple radiation oncologists at our main academic location and at our community locations, as the department continues to grow under the leadership of chairman Dr. Ronald Chen.
About University Of Kansas Cancer Center-Department Of Radiation Oncology
The University of Kansas Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The University of Kansas Cancer Center has recently received a $100 million lead gift to build a new, state-of-the-art destination cancer center.
The integrated clinical program serves over 6,000 new patients annually. The department consists of 23 physician faculty, and is active in basic and translational research, clinical trials, and health services research. There is a dedicated team of research staff to support clinical trials, and a full-time statistician for the department. The department has an ACGME-accredited four-year residency program in radiation oncology, and a CAMPEP-accredited physics residency.
For the main academic location, we are looking for one academically oriented faculty focused on breast cancer, and another faculty focused on genitourinary cancers. In addition, we are seeking a faculty member to practice in our community locations. We are interested in applicants who have newly completed residency, as well as mid-career and senior-level candidates with established clinical and research expertise.
Our main academic location and the community locations are in the Kansas City Metro area. Kansas City is a growing, vibrant community, and several of the suburbs are consistently ranked as top places to live in the United States and have outstanding schools.

- MD or DO
- ABR Board Certified/Eligible in Radiation Oncology
- Completion of a Radiation Oncology residency, from an accredited institution
- Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
- Recent increase in overall compensation package
