What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary full-time summer undergraduate research lab position position at The University of Iowa?
The laboratory of Assoc. Prof. Miles Pufall is seeking an undergraduate student enrolled at a local college to perform full-time summer research in cancer biology. The undergraduate assistant will use biochemical, molecular biological, and cell biological approaches to potentiate steroid treatment of cancers. The undergraduate assistant will perform cell culture, infection, cell death assays, flow cytometry, and other molecular biology techniques. The undergraduate assistant will interpret data, write research progress reports, and prepare graphs and illustrations for manuscripts. The undergraduate assistant will maintain organized computer files and notebook of all data and assist with bibliographic work. The undergraduate assistant will help with daily operation of the lab. The individual should be creative, curious, responsible, and enthusiastic for research. This is a ~10-week full-time position in May-August 2025.
