Role Description
The vegetable entomology research laboratory conducts investigation into how pest insects affect vegetable productivity in Georgia and how to best control these pests. Current tasks include maintaining insect (e.g., whitefly and diamondback moth) colonies, collecting and processing samples and entering data. Specific tasks include rapidly identifying and counting small insects under stereo microscope magnification, maintain plant food for insect colonies, plant seeds/seedlings for colonies and/or research tests, scout, and other duties related to entomological field research.
This is a limited-term appointment expected to end 1 year after the start date. Renewal or extension beyond the initial term is possible but not guaranteed and will depend on project needs, the availability of funding, and job performance.

Experience and Interest in the field of Entomology.
